Gymnastics for Homeschoolers with Duncan Dynamics

Duncan Dynamics is proud to offer gymnastics classes that specifically meet physical education requirements for homeschoolers through gymnastics circuits and activities. Starting as early as Kindergarten, your child can fulfill their physical education credits without missing out on their favourite sport, Gymnastics!

You can create an account and register for a homeschooling program through the recreational registration calendar while registration is open each season.

If you are waiting for funding through your homeschooling provider, we ask that you select E-transfer when in check out and send us an email so that we know you are waiting. This way you are not overpaying. If you make a payment and then your funding comes in, it goes onto your account as a credit for next time, not a refund.

If you missed homeschooling registration, reach out to info@ddgc.ca to see if there are spaces left. We usually host registration 1-2 months ahead of a class start time! If we don't get enough registrations before classes start, we will be forced to cancel the classes and will be unable to allow late registrations, so don't wait, get a spot as early as you can!

Registration for classes starting in September 2024 is ongoing. Reach out to info@ddgc.ca for assistance.

Blended Learning For Recreational Gymnasts

Blended learning classes are being offered in addition to the current homeschooling offerings that run from season to season.

Our blended learning is scheduled in order for families to easily coordinate between DDGC and The Grove which typically has onsite teachers available in the afternoon. However, if the overall preferences of those attending the blended learning classes between DDGC and The Grove align differently, the schedule may be changed to accommodate the group.

That being said. Duncan Dynamics and The Grove are not in partnership, and are completely separate entities, which means you do not need to be registered with The Grove in order to register for a blended learning class. If you are homeschooling through another provider, you are more than welcome to register for any of the homeschooling classes that DDGC offers.

There are two distinct differences between a blended learning class, and our regular homeschooling classes:

  • The blended learning class runs from September to June, where as the original class type runs for a season at a time (September to December for the Fall for example).
  • The blended learning class runs for 2 hours per class and the original class type runs for 1.5 hours per class.

Original class types offer more flexibility between Seasons, and is great for younger kids that might be overwhelmed by the 2 hour length that the blended learning class offers.

How it works:

  • Register for the DDGC Blended Learning Class when it is available on our Registration Calendar through your account.
  • Sign up with The Grove (If you haven't already) for their abundance of learning resources (link provided below).
  • Attend Gymnastics with DDGC and then head over to The Grove for learning and educational resources.

What else do you need to know?

  • You must register through your account in order to attend any Duncan Dynamics programming, including Homeschooling classes.
  • All participants require insurance and membership fees to be paid before classes begin. The first invoice for classes starting after September 1st will be charged for insurance and for membership once per participant, per gymnastics year (September 1 - August 31).
  • Our Rules, Terms & Conditions are a great place to review safety rules, withdrawal policies, transfers, payment guidelines, and much more!
  • You can click on a program in the calendar to bring up the program details for more information about it.

What's the difference between Blended Learning and an Academy?

Both DDGC and The Grove are separate entities that are working together to bring resources to more families in the community. Families will still need to sign up for services with both DDGC and The Grove so that they can get gymnastics training with DDGC and extensive learning with The Grove. Though, if you are not with The Grove, you can still register for a DDGC program, and your homeschooling provider separately.

Since DDGC is not an academy, there will not be a teacher on site nor "class time" at the gym; DDGC will focus solely on physical fitness and the homeschooling provider will focus on learning and educational resources.
